Doctor Roth attended medical school at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York earning his MD in 1989. From there, he did a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at NYU's prestigious Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine finishing in 1993. He did a sports medicine fellowship at Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopedic Institute, finishing in 1994. He has a certification in medical acupuncture from the New York State Education Board. He has had training in osteopathic manipulation and has a certification in functional medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine in Washington state.

He has spent his entire 24 year career practicing in an outpatient setting seeing people with all types of pain conditions. This experience has given him a very comprehensive perspective on what factors go into how a person develops chronic pain and the inadequacies of how pain is treated in this country.

Through his own personal and professional frustrations, he has educated himself in certain spiritual teachings. At a certain point, he realized the natural applicability of these teachings to the assessment and management of people with chronic pain conditions.

As an avid exerciser and athlete, he has had his share of injuries including two ACL ruptures and subsequent reconstructions. While these were difficult to deal with, they were a blessing in disguise in that they afforded him the opportunity to apply his theories to his own pain with great success. Now, he wants to bring his unique perspective and therapeutic techniques to the general chronic pain suffering public on a larger scale.
