As a medical doctor who has worked in the field of pain management for the past 20 plus years, I have had the opportunity to listen and examine many people who were in chronic pain. This has afforded me the opportunity to acquire a vast amount of experience and knowledge regarding what brings about this condition and the various ways people tend to react to it.

I understand that the people I see will be looking for assistance with long standing and challenging issues. It is my job to listen intently and without judgement. I see myself as a guide who helps to clarify and facilitate a process aimed at bringing awareness to the underlying drivers of the client's chronic pain. I facilitate this process in a sensitive and nonjudgmental way aimed at empowering the client rather than laying blame or shame.

The most important therapeutic tool I employ is assisting the client raising his/her own present moment awareness of the relationship between thoughts and emotions and physical pain. Every other effective therapy for chronic pain works off of this as it's foundation. As simple as it may sound, it's healing potential is enormous. It is, in my opinion, the most powerful healing intervention there is.

I will be acting as a hybrid among medical doctor, therapist, spiritual advisor and nutritionist, bringing all of my knowledge and experience into my interactions with my clients. I believe this to be a unique approach which I know is highly effective. I believe in practicing what I preach and as such have been honing and personally applying these techniques to my own pain issues for the better part of 15 years with excellent results.

I want to be clear in stating that there is no easy way to break the vicious cycle of chronic pain. My approach, while easy to understand on the surface, has many facets to it and involves some discomfort, both physically and emotionally. It involves considerable change which is never easy. It also involves practice and therefore an investment of time although not an inordinate amount. I look forward

to the  opportunity and great responsibility of assisting my clients in their journey toward a pain free existence.

Yours in presence,

Eric S. Roth, MD
